Check the latest travel advice and subscribe to receive instant email notification from travel websites each time the travel advice is updated.

Insurance when travelling.
Take out appropriate travel insurance to cover hospital treatment, medical evacuation and any activities, including adventure sports, in which you plan to participate.

Check to see if you require visas

Copy Travel Documents
Make copies of your passport details, insurance policy, travellers cheques, visas and credit card numbers. Carry one copy in a separate place to the originals and leave a copy with someone at home.

Vacinations
Check for information on recommended vaccinations or other precautions appliacble. Find out about overseas laws on travelling with medicines.

Passport check in advance
Make sure your passport has at least six months validity and carry additional copies of your passport photo with you in case you need a replacement passport while overseas.

Leave a diary with friends
Leave a copy of your travel itinerary with someone at home and keep in regular contact with friends and relatives.

Foreign Office advice
Check out the Foreign Office website for guidelines applicable and take advice with regards to crime as well as health and safety precautions.

Valuables
On arrival ensure that you place your valuables and important documents in a secure place such as the hotel safe.

When you are in the sea or the pool, make sure you leave them with your travel partners or at hotel reception. If you take them in the sea the need to secured 100% !!

Taxi's
Always use a licensed and recommended taxi firm - do not agree to take a 'minicab' style taxi just because it may save you a few pounds. Many airports have dedicated taxi counters to buy your fare in advance - use these services wherever possible.

Credit Cards
Make a note of the lost/stolen helpline numbers for your credit and debit cards and keep seperately from your purse or wallet.

Dont forget to Cancel the milk ! and papers. Let a trustworthy neighbour know how long you'll be gone and ask if they mind keeping an eye on the house.
